Maureen's Story

Dance was briefly introduced to Maureen at the age of 12 and it was love at first step as she learned the basics during a 12 week class in Thief River Falls. Once in high school, Maureen focused on cheerleading and danced in several Lincoln High School choir musicals. Maureen credits her choir teacher, Darcy Reese, for her drive, an eye to detail and passion for teaching children of all ages. 

After high school, Maureen coached hip hop at First City Dance Studio in Bemidji, MN. She later relocated to the metro area where she had the opportunity to coach cheerleading at Bloomington Kennedy High School. 

Several years later, Maureen moved back to the Thief River Falls community to raise her children and be closer to family. For the past 12 years, she has had the opportunity to coach hundreds of dancers right here in the community she grew up in. She loves being able to provide children with an opportunity that wasn't available to her at a young age. Maureen is looking forward to continuing coaching and helping each dancer grow and evolve.
